i have been trying to find a source for quick(8 hours or less) mod ideas, ive searched and didnt really find what i was looking for so i decided to start a sorts reference guide for those looking for ideas aswell.

I'd like to keep this list down to mods not the basic service or maintenence jobs, like oil changes or greasing joints, and dont really require any special tools.

What i can think of

extending breather lines
installing spacers/ shackles
rear swaybar removal
tb spacer
tc drops
homemade swaybar discos
bar pin eliminators
bumpstop extensions
CB radio and antenna
zj steering upgrade

additions please:compwork:

ill try to locate some links to writeups on what ive thought of so far

hope this goes somewhere

Pulling a dana 44 from a 87-89 cherokee, from a junk yard for under $100.00!!!

Here is a little Tcase drop with a strip 2"x 1/4" Long 20" .
It is to prevent vibes and damage of the mainframe by jacks.

Kind of a goofy question! I dont know of anything that even takes 8 hours!(unless your doing your mod on the TRAIL)

I think that depends on how much beer is involved.

Relocate brake lines.

Swap a dual electric fan setup from a taurus
Get a factory skid plate from the junk-yard, or make your own

99+ intake swap
Make a bastard pack
Install coils
136 amp Zj alt
Pull mechanical fan and put in a second E fan
Install overhead console
Install a CB
Upgrade battery cables
Install rock lights
Make a deck for the rear cargo area to keep all your tools hidden
Install GM front brakehoses and Dakota rear brake hose
Swap in a 95+ brake booster and MC
Cut the cubby hole out of the cargo area trim and hook up a master flow compressor in the quarter panel for cheap OBA
Install sound bars
Cut hinges for doorless mod

Install TJ flares
Install tow hooks
Install a hitch
Build a relay box for aux lights
Install a roof rack
Install skid plates
Build a light bar out of a factory cross bar for a roof rack
Install WJ lca's

The only two I would discount would be the TB spacer and WJ LCAs. TB's spacer's were meant for carburetors, because they gave the fuel more time to mix so it burnt better. But since there's no AF mixture flowing through the spacer, just air, it makes no difference. If you want the same effect you could always build an intake manifold spacer.

Also the WJ LCAs have a nasty tendency to crack the frame side CA mounts because since they're boxed, they don't flex like ours do, so the stress gets transfered to the CA mounts.

i think a better question would be "what mods CAN'T you do in 8 hours?"

yeah, eight hours is a good amount of time. would probably be able to make a shorter list by naming what takes more than eight hours. still, not a bad idea to toss around new ideas or whatever.... carry on :)
