Muffler repacement help

I just investigated the loud noise coming from my Jeep and found a huge hole in the back of the muffler. Looks like replacement is straight forward, and I have just one question. What is the deal with the connector between the cat and muffler. There are two square flanges that bolt together. Since I am in NY and have a better chance of seeing pigs fly then those coming apart nicely, what is the easiest way to get that connector apart? Will sawz-all right down the middle work?

The victim is a 2K Cherokee with the inline 6.

Thanks,

Eric

You'd have a better chance instead of cutting it right down the middle to cut the pipe on the muffler side to get it out leaving it in place.
