offroad lights wiring question

I am installing some delta lights and the direction says that I am to tap the red (+) wire or the switch to a hot wire using the "snap lock connector." What hot wire should or do I use to connect these two?
I want the lights to be able to be operated separately from the headlights so I can turn them on or off at will.
I want to mount the switch below my headlight controls near my left knee.

Get a bit of extra wire and run a seperate circuit for your offroad lights. It'll save you a headache in the future when trouble-shooting the inevitable. I've got 4 Daylighters on top in a V pattern (top center 2 are run by seperate switch while the lower outside 2 have their own) My 2 daylighter's on the front bumper and my 2 Hella laser beams in the rear each have their own as well. All sets have their own circuit...I guess that may be a bit of an overkill but thats what happens when you're a sparky. Either way good luck.

it's easy. run the power wire from the battery slot in your fuse box to one terminal of the switch (i think it's the top but don't woute me). then run the wire from the switch to the lights(middle i plug i believe). finally ground the lights and the switch. i ground the lights to my bumber bracket on the frame and the switch to a bolt right next to the fuse box.

Don't do this.

Use a relay and wire the lights correctly.

You don't want to let the smoke out.

x2. If you are going to do a lot of electrical stuff, do a relay box like Fitch and I did. Here is my writeup.

Then, you could do lights like I did:

And still have two positions left for your head light harness upgrade

Uh, no. You really should be using relays to control anything electrical. This way, you are not running a lot of current through your switches. I would try to explain how relays, sitches, and the like work, but there are plenty of resoures out there that can do a much better job than I.

Ideally I would have only two wires comming off of my battery for aftermarket auxillery components. One to my FitchBox (the relay box) and one to my switch area.
