Broken cat(alytic) converter

Man, yesterday was the greatest. Finally broke down and took a look at the catalytic converter on the Jeep. Been running like dog shit lately, wouldn't go over 4000rpm, no power at all, just shit.

Cut into it, couldn't reuse the stock muffler due to the metal being compressed, not being able to remove the pipe.

Anyways, my suspicions proved correct. Inside of the converter was all smashed to bits, sounded like rocks inside the exhaust when running.





Holy shitballs, new converter in + new 02 sensor, forgot how peppy this 199,650 mile bitch is.

Hope it wasn't a 96. Had mine replaced under warranty at the dealer with 147,000 miles on it. They still talk about mine getting replaced for free with that many miles.:laugh:

My van did the very same thing about 2 years ago. Not fun.....

Only one thing to do, replace it....
