Bump Starting an Auto.....

Is the only reason you cant bump start a auto the torque converter?
And if so with an BrettM's http://www.awshifting.com/ mod, couldn't u theoretically lock the torque converter and then bump start it?

PS: Didn't know where this should be, and since you would need the AWshifting tranny controller in the particular question I put it here.

The reason is because the pump is in the front. Old cars that had a rear pump could bump start because they had fluid pressure with the driveshaft turning.
With an AW4, sure you could lock the converter, but it has to have pressure from the pump to apply and lock the converter. Basically the converter would have to be rotating and driving the pump in order to lock it.
