ARB Signal Lamps

I recently purchased a used ARB Bumper for my '00. ARB (IMO) makes a pretty fair bumper, but the turn signal assemblies they provide are complete junk. $39.95 each for the identical replacements, is not very appealing. I read on the TJ boards that '80's VW assemblies would work. So after a trip to the local U-Pull-It, I found out either they're wrong or the TJ bumper is different. Does anyone know of an alternative (preferably boltin) replacement for these lights, or am I stuck with the ARB junk?

You can use the turn signals from the VW Golf I - I used clear ones on my bumper.

What year?? I can't find a VW here that will work, they're all too big. Trust me I wasted 2 hours at the junk yard yesterday looking.
