Nut strips

Where are you guy's getting your nutstrips for the 96 and older XJ's. I went to the dealership in Iron Mountain MI today and the parts counter along with the tech's had no idea what I'm taliking about. I found this part number on a CD I had (5200-1174-5). I called and even gave them the part number and said it's not available. I was told to go to Wal-mart and get the universal class 3 hitch. NOT HAPPENING! I do not have a welder but I was thinking of using some 1/4" steel plate I have and use the JB weld on the grade 8 nuts till I can get em cranked. PS I bought them about 4 years ago for my Valley brand hitch on my 94.

This is just one example. You can look at any Mopar catalog under the same section to find these. I'm sure the prices vary by several bucks from place to place. The parts guy at your stealership is an idiot.

I just used wrench washers (AKA reinforcing plates) as shown in the link below. I just used ones I already had after I had taken my hitch off to install my gas tank skid. They are hard to find but a welder could make them for you, probably for alot cheaper than buying nutstrips.
