XJ D44 Width

I just need a quick answer. What is the width of an XJ D44?

I found a D44 locally but don't know what it's out of. The ad says its out of a jeep and is 53" wide. any help here?

I just ran out and did these measurements in the dark with a flashlight, but here is what I got:

62" WMS to WMS
44" center of leafspring perch to center of leafspring perch
46" outer edge of leafspring perch to outer edge of leafspring perch
42" inner edge of leafspring perch to inner edhe of leafspring perch
~57" inner drum brake mounting flange to inner drumbrake mounting flange
2.75" diameter axle tubes
5x4.5 lug pattern (thats FIVE lugs)
four bolts hold each drum brake on

If the axle you are looking at has 6 lug nuts, as i suspect it does, it is probably out of a Jeep Wagoneer, or an import like an Isuzu.

Again these measurements were made quickly and in the dark, but should be accurate enough for your purposes.

Hey thanks man! Definitely not an XJ D44 if the guy says its 53". Anyone know what jeep came with a rear d44 with that width?

It would help if you knew the wheel bolt pattern size, maybe a Bronco II.

the only thing that narrow is a cj I think. cj would be 5 x 5.5"

The guy just emailed me back...apparently its out of a CJ.
