Looking at putting new speakers in the stock sound bar in my XJ. Does anyone know right off what size the speakers are? 5.25 or 6.5? Tks

my 2001 has 5.25 in the front two doors and 6.5 in the rear.

I think it depends on the year model. My 91 has 5.25s front and rear.

my soundbar has 5.25's in the rear.
IIRC, they all came with 5.25's, but you can easily put 6.5's into the soundbar.

5 1/4's but you can fit in 6 1/2's very easily. doesn't just go for soundbars. front speakers and those of us that have speakers in the hatch can all fit 6 1/2's with miner trimming.

mine had 6 1/2's stock i just replaced them with some kickers
