2 AW4s, both with 235k + both get beaten like unwanted stepchildren, and operate fine. (both have remote filters and divorced coolers too)

Not the highest but maybe the lowest. 64K AUTO, reverse 180's are what killed it.:laugh3:

We have had several with over 200K...
I just remembered,
When Travis went from the 4 speed to the auto, he "shifted" leaving a stop light.
He threw it into reverse at about 40 and floored it, that was at 195,000, as far as I know the guy that baught it is still driving it.

123K AW4 not that impressive.. But it's almost all Trail... Had a few rear seals go out. To further my feeble post thats with 36-37-38" tires 3:55 gears and a Klune. Talk about a dog on the road.. But on the trial it's fine.

Hey Gunner, do you, like, have to put it in low, low to get over speed bumps with those axle gears, or what? Makes me feel a little bit better about running 33" Boggers with a B/A 10-5 and 3.07's. (You do understand that I AM joking, right?) Ah, the wonder of aftermarket X-cases.

210K miles on my trail 91' XJ AW4
133K on my "new" 98' XJ AX15 5 speed
Please state the year of your XJ and what 5 speed the BA10, AX15, or newer NV3500 (I think that's what it's called 00-01').
I want to see if we can beat the Renix XJs here, they might have us in being older, but maybe some people do a lot of highway driving and have a 500K 91'+ AW4 or AX15. Atl XJ, what year XJ and what tranny? That's very impressive 460K!!! :laugh3:

Its not mine, but its a guy I know's 94 4.0l/AW4. Its mostly hwy miles and its been well taken care of and it has a transmission cooler. He's on his second engine but the AW4 keep on trucking along.

I swapped in a different AX5 when I converted my MJ. I pulled it from an 86 XJ in the junkyard that had 181K miles on it, and I've put about 15K miles on it since, so I'd guess it's right around 200K;)
I'm not saying it doesn't have any issues...it sounds like a can of marbles in anything over 3rd gear, but it still works:laugh3:

I must say these things have one of the most reliable engine/tranny combo`s ever! A strong contender would have to be a Ford 300-6/C6.

what kind of maintenance have you done on them
fluid changes at what intervals and what fluid do you put back in them
I have just over 70k on my ax15 and I wanna do everything I can to keep this thing lasting but it already seems like its hard to shift when its cold out

220k miles on my auto, at least 50k towing a 1,000lb trailer.
Not that I reccomend this but I never did get aound to installing a cooler and I don't
change fluid near as often as I should.
