axel swap

found an 8.8 at the junk yard with disc breaks. i want to do the axel swap to get rid of the 35. i have two options

1. swap in the 8.8 and regear the front. have a couple of friends who could help.

2. sell the 8.8 and buy a complete cherokee with a d44 and swap both axels into my rig. this will fit my skills better as i could do this by myself. i already know of a cherokee to buy.

i am on a really tight budget so what do you recommend

My dad always told me go for what you know or buy a book and read to learn how to do what you want.the D-44 would be my choice.more options.

i would buy the other cherokee. not only will you get both the axles, but you will have all the spare parts you could ever want. sounds like a deal to me

so anyone want to buy an 8.8?

they are both good axels. the 8.8 already has disk brakes. the D44 already has the spring perches on it. either way, they're both good. I would favor the 8.8 more.
