tips and tricks?

Hey guys I picked a 9 inch up for my cherokee and i want to take the shafts out but I cant get the drum covers off..ive tryed banging and prying so what else is there for me to do.

Try looking on the back of the backing plates on the bottom edge. There is a place that you can reach in with a screwdriver and back off the adjuster wheel. That will release the drums.
