Stock XJ front skid plate work on a 3.5 RE lift?

nothing to do with the lift directly.... like said above, it just exposes the front end the more you lift.

I run one with a 4.0" and a 98. I may lower it alittle this summer, but it still serves a purpose the way it is.

Don't forget it doesn't work with a front hitch....
 
The biggest help a front skid is after 3" of lift is to keep the ALT dry. TRUST me, I know from experience, there needs to be something over that area or else you WILL toast an alt or two. Since I put one on, my alt is good during water and mud runs.

NOTE: It does make it a little harder to tweak your front suspension stuff but nothing to bad.

I put one on my 94 and I have an RE 3.5" lift, no issues.
 
I dont have any pics where you can actually see the skid as my bumper is in the way
