CPS Part Problems

My 96 Jeep Crankshaft Sensor went bad and I have now gone to three different stores trying to find the right part. Each store keeps giving me the wrong part. The sensors look alot alike but the plugs do not match up. I know the 96 model is the transition year so the parts can get screwy, I just need help locating the correct part. Maybe someone has had the same problem with theirs and can relate. I went to Advanced, Napa, and Auto Zone with no luck at all.

They all have the part but I took the first one home and plugged it all in and it did not work. So I have been trying to find the right one not the same exact one the other thee have sold me.

The only thing I can suggest is to take the old one in with you. Have them pull a '96 and a '97 and compare connectors.

My 94-96 parts guide lists:

SENSOR, Crankshaft Position
5602 6921 XJZJ w/Manual & Automatic Transmissions
5602 7865 XJ 4.0L Engine, with Sales Code XCY

w/4.0L engine
SENSOR, Crankshaft Position
5602 6921 ZJXJ w/Manual & Automatic Transmissions
5602 7865 XJ 4.0 Engine (with sales code XCY) ***

(Don't ask me why there's a separate section for the 4.0 engine)

The '97 lists:
SENSOR, Crankshaft Position
56027 866AB ER0 4.0L Engine (ERH,ER0=4.0L Power Tech I-6)
