Adding column Shift

I know that most of the government vehicles had this as an option. Is this a real easy conversion from the typical floor shift? If so, how is this done and have any of you done this and be able to give me some pointers since I am considering this. Thanks

you might also want to look at MJ's for a column shift, it was a more common occurance than the XJ.
