clunk........

What are the average lifetimes of tranny and motor mounts? (stock ones, that is)
I've been having a hard clunking sound mostly hitting bumps in the road at 30+ MPH. Seems to come from the front left, but hard to know for sure. It's hard to get out and nail down where the sound is coming from when the Jeep is moving. However, I also sometimes get a clunk in the rear starting from a dead stop, like at a light. But this doesn't happen all the time. What else could it be? Runs and drives fine just makin some noise. Inlaws are in town for the holidays so since I will be hiding in the garage anyway figure I better get this fixed. it's a '91 4.0 auto with 231 and a RE4.5 if that matters. thanks.........

change the tranny mount and mm , peice of cake job, and i dont know what i'm doin...

they should be instock at your local autoparts store

Isn't it ironic that a search for the word "clunk" would have turned up some help.

Here's a thread from a few days ago, I posted my opinion in there. I had the same symptoms and have the same lift.
