Gears

I have recently scrapped an 87 four cylinder Cherokee and it has 4.56 gears, I was wondering if running these gears with 31 inch tires is okay, like would it hurt highway driving or throw off my speedometer?

I have been running this combo since Jan. My speedo is way off, I think it reads about 70 at 55. You can get a new speedo gear to correct this. RPM's will be higher, but even at interstate speeds they are not that bad. HTH. JIM.

Thanks man, I think I'm gonna run them so they'll be in for when I go higher and get bigger tires. I've read here that a few guys are running these gears with 33s so I figured I'd just ask to see if anyone was running with 31s and thses gears.

That is why I put them in. I will be going to 33's by the end of the month. JIM.
