A couple of years ago my A/C compressor clutch gave out (it's an R12 unit from a 94). Anyhow, have assumed the compressor locked and that's what caused the clutch to go, an way to confirm this though? All I did at the time was pry the pieces from the clutch off that were hanging loose and interfering with the pulley and belt (was on side of highway in No-whereville, Nevada) and haven't had A/C since. If the clutch is bad and I need to replace, figured I'd put a R134 unit in (from a bone yard) and a new drier. Anything else needed aside from a flush? Thanks, JP

If you are going to run on 134 you need to change the expassion valve. flush the evap and condeser and put new oil to the compressor.
