ABS brakes

This might be a stupid question, but how do I know if I have ABS brakes? I got my XJ as a present and have never really had to slam on the brakes. It is a 2000 if that helps at all. Any imput is greatly appreciated!

Turn the key in the ignition to the ACC part and watch all the lights on the dash light up, if it has ABS, it will say. Also you can look on the rear axel to see if you have an extra line running into the drums. Hope that helps a little. Daniel

Take your XJ on a dirt road and stomp on the brakes once you get going about 25-30. If you feel the brake pedal pulse you have ABS.
