Where do I find shock bushings

XJ4PLAY

NAXJA Member #1194
I have Rancho 9116, that I need to replace the bushings on.
1) Does anyone know if they make rubber replacements and if so where can I get them?
2)Where do I get factory replacement poly ones?

3)Can I do these with basic hand tools or do I need a press or something special?

Thank you

Most 4x4 specialty shops sell replacement bushings in rubber or poly.

Some kind of vise works best (even a work-mate) but if you soap them up well you can often just put the bushing on a stable flat surface and push the shock eye down over it. This works better with rubber than poly as it flexes more.

Go to a local spring shop and they'll be able to help you out.

You can use a bench vise, and a couple of socket to press them out.

I never found rubber replacement bushings for my Ranchos, but they do make them. They are an hourglass style compared to the flat sided stock ones.

Fergie
