Mini spool install help on D44

I am getting a mini spool for my D44 this weekend and was wondering if I need to remove the carrier to do this or just take out spiders and put it in? I have replaced spiders before no big deal but if I pull the carrier then I will have to get the gears reset. Does anybody know?

I have to remove the ring gear to get the cross pin out, so yes you have to pull the carrier.

No, you do not have to reset the gears everytime you pull the carrier.

So I can pull the carrier and just reinstall it and it will have no effect on the backlash or anything like that?

yes removing the carrier will not effect the setup of the gears.
