View Full Version : Front Wheel Drive Only?

Is it alright to drive without the rear driveshaft installed. I am waiting for my new one but I have to go back to work on Wed. I know some of you have done this but I definatly don't want to damage anything. If I have to I'll rent a car but I rather spend that money on the jeep.

Did it for 2 weeks once. If you use your head and respect your hardware limitations you will be fine. Go easy on the skinny pedal, and be downright ginger around turns. Good luck.

yeah its fine i drove on mine for a week, just be light on the gas pedal...

What did you guys do about the Tcase output? When I drove around the block with my DS out I leaked a half quart of ATF.

The new style ('96 and newer) won't leak. For the old style, get a single-serve (20 ounce??) plastic Coke bottle, cut off the bottom, and hose clamp it around the tailshaft housing.
