Front axle seals, How to??????

I bought two axle seals for the front and plan on putting them on tomorrow. They were leaking and stopped. After a hard day in the woods they started leaking again.
Is this common?
Why would they leak after 4 wheeling and not all the time, the axles turn all the time?
Anyone got torque specs for the bearing caps?
Any other things I should look out for? (both u-joints and bearings new)

Go to theTechnical section at mad xj, good write up on the subject, and some interesting tools to get the job done. I have a '00 fsm and I think it says 65ftlbs for the caps. PM me and I'll send you the info as I'm not on the computer with the FSM on it.
Remind me to get you the picture of the neat seal driver they recommend in the fsm too!
