Well he must do some wheelin look at the scratches and dents on teh rock rail portion of teh exocage. why doyou say 1.5" of up travel?
Gil BullyKatz

why do you say 1.5" of up travel?
There was approximately 1.5" of space between his bump stop and the bottom of his coil...
Seriously

Well I guess your johnson is a little longer than 1.5" because as you can see in the enhanced pic there is no bumpstop extension on the top of the bumpstop tower or from the axle side also. looks like about 4" to 6" of clear space to me. can see light through the Drivers Side spring all the way down to the axle mount and can plainly see no extension on the passenger side bumpstop. also look at the doors and rails this rig gets play
So what kinda stuff where you smokin that day, must hav been some good stuff!

I guess you're right... I only stared at it from a few inches away... and you're looking at a low-res picture...
Sorry... Didn't mean to poke fun at your rig... I liked the way it looks if it makes ya feel better
and of course this rig plays hard... I'm sure it ran orange trail and purgatory

you can see the consetric coil rings here in the pic, It aint my rig but I still say you are on crack! LOL
http://fototime.com/%7B7EC43930-40F0-4799-B7BA-4B34F3011621%7D/picture.JPG
The red lines show where the clear space in the coil is plainly visable. and youcan see the lines and holes continue behind the spring and back. clearly open
and yes its a nice rig.
I run a 34.5" coilover and set for 3.5" up uptravel and 8.5" of down travel on my MJ. with 35" tire and about 5.5" of lift I get full tuck to the inner fender well and a great deal of droop.
Have you seen the pneumatic bumpstops that the jeepspeed guys run? they compress about 3" most run em about 2" off the axle mount and use em to help dampen the bumps.

Stop being a fawking idiot.
I was there, and this rig had 5-6" billet bumpstops ATTACHED TO THE COIL PERCH.
I run 3" myself.
Regardless, xjnation, you weren't there, and many of us were.
Pull your head out of your wrecked'em and admit fault.
This was a well built rig, that never got over 800 RPM, that I could see.
In fact, he let the air out of a beadlock backing away from a line.
Gil is accurate.

Why dont you learn to be a little more polite, None of your sorry post was necessary. and from reading your other posts, I have no reason to believe anything you type. I have a PM from someone who wishes to not get involved with this but said Im right.
Fault? what fault do I need to admit. Maybe you should take a 3rd grade english class and learn proper use of the english language.
And what does how he drove have to do with what was on the rig?

Wow, I missed more e-drama.
Hey nation-boy, what is your major malfunction, here?
Several people (who WERE actually there) ,including me, saw the bumpstops. He (the owner) was even asked about them, OK?
My question is; what is your tie to this? Did you build the rig for him? Is he your little brother? It's a nice looking, strongly built, rig that has some suspension issues, namely, it doesn't work.
When a rig that built is out of flex going over a 12" rock there's a problem, OK?
Pick your battles a little more wisely.

Look again. Do you see any tuck whatsoever on this rig?
Check the angles. The roof is pretty much on the same angle as the axles in every pic. IOW, no flex.
Listen, I'm not trying to bag on the guys rig. It's a beautiful XJ and I'm guessing he will get it working right.
My issue is you. Again, why would you jump in the middle of this, talking $hit about something you have no idea about.

And these pics arent even the right rig! this one flexes...
and the Exo-Cage Guy isnt even flexing as well as my rig did - there just isnt any stuff going on there... look at his axles inrelation to the body...
im not saying that it was a terrible rig, or that im not jellous - id piss my pants if he offered me a trade - im just saying that he needs to tune the suspention a little bit...
im just wondering why XJNATION, Why?

Well it appears he wishes to keep the tires off the body. Which has never been an issue on my rigs.. he does have decent down travel as seen in the first pic. There are alot of guys out there who have limited up travle a bunch not to this extent but still alot. I have always tried toset up the front that the spring is fully compressed before the shock bottoms out. I have never run extended bumpstops front or rear.

No Flopping was experienced.
Lessons learned:
1. I miss the 100" wheelbase
2. Remember to go back and finish welding
3. 33's and stock gears are hard on clutches.
4. straight pipes are loud
5. Hang on tight when dropping off a ledge with 80" wheel base (read #1)
6. BG is just as loud and obnoxious in real life...but entertaining
7. Stand back when Chewy is riding a quad.

The Quiet Riot Suzuki's CornCross days are over. There is no way that thing could handle 60+m.p.h. through hair pins in a corn field. I'll be working on Zuki Trail below the pond for this years Infinifest. If I can get the 2WD MJ ready for the dirt track, it will replace high speed duties.
Flex is over rated.
