Ford 8.8 / Lincoln

About a month ago I saw a Lincoln Ford 8.8 center section on ebay. It has a rugged differential cover which had brackets on it for some kind of sway bar / track bar? I thought when I saw it, it was off a Lincoln VII late 80's. Last week I was in the junk yard, and found a VII, but it's 8.8 with the tin diff cover.

Does anybody know what Lincoln has this 8.8 differential with the
strong cover. PS: I am assuming it is IFS/IRS.

It is the IRS type, I don't know how well it would work on a jeep, the aluminum cover may be more prone to cracking?

..just got me an late model 8.8 Ford Explorer axle sometime ago,but before then was wondering and had the same concern on useing the other Ford axles. I will send you some information via the "back-channel" (email) if you prefer, let me know to save some bandwidth here at the NAXJA forum- Good luck

I have a 96' Explorer rear-end, I was just interested in a cheap strong diff cover.

This cover is little weird (eye shape) the lincoln I am trying to find is cooler.
