i have a hi-lift jack. never used it before, i just got it for x-mas. i am not real sure on how to make it go down. i push the leverdown but the bottom pin does not move. any ideas on what i am doing wrong?

It should drop by its self with no load on it. May be needs to be used a little to break it in.
Push the handle all the way down(like your jacking ) the pin should move.

Keep it lubed, they will not work if not lubed up.

the jack does not drop at all. the bottom pin never retracts.

Just took a look at mine---With the lever in the down position,lifting head all the way lowered,Jack handle in the down position the lower pin should move into the bar.
Being new,is the paint holding the pin back?Spring missing or broken ? Pin bent ?Need lube ?
Take a hammer and tap it in if all else fails.

i lubed it with wd-40 but not enough and it didnt work. after the second half of the can it work great. thanks everybody
