Carrier Break in 8.25

I going to change the gears in the XJ I just bought and change the gears to 4.56 for the 8.25. Will I need a new carrier I have 3.55 gears in there now. One last question it has ARB locker on it now will it still work with the 4.56 gears? I assuming if I dont need a new carrier the arb will work but if I need a new carrier the arb wont work is that correct?

ok, just to make things clear for me... uhhh, i am also replacing gears from 3.55 to 4.56 and have D30 and 97+ Chrys. 8.25 in the rear. i just need a new carrier for the front then? how much do carriers for a D30 usually cost? when it comes to diff work, i'm pretty lost.

they ran about $45-50 from RANDY'S i just went to the u-pull and picked one up for $15

Actually, there is but it doesn't apply for us - 2.45 & down and 2.56 & up
