Barring major unforseen complications, I will be there. After we made the mistake of being there the month before the big event last year because of a stupid timeshare exchange, I told the wife that we would not be missing the the next one.

I'd sure like to - would be strange not headed for Utah in October like the last four years - but I guess this will depend on my job search. Assuming I do find another job by then :dunno: - I doubt they will be as generous with vacation time as my former employer. If I am still an unemployed deadbeat :D , I'll be there!!!

Ya, sure, you betcha, hey......

Rotten, no good idiots out east. Corporate acquisition happened middle of April, the site closure was announced 2 weeks later. Original end date was supposed to be late October/early November. It's done nothing but move back since then. Most of what's left here in the data center are infrastructure servers, and as soon as the remaining applications are migrated or decommissioned, we're outta here.

Every time I think that the bottom of the barrel has been reached, something even more stupid happens. :flamemad: :flamemad: :flamemad:

Spent last year in Moab & Colorado in august with local buddies and had a blast except it was too hot in Moab (temps 100+) and wasn't real impressed with colorado wheelin, so I have vaca time set for moab this year with NAXJA and have full intentions of making the trip there...and trying to get my dad to make the trip out with me as well....

Just found out, my father's day present will be to let me go to the Fling.

Anybody with a cabin or other arrangement wanna go halvsies with me? Or let me squeeze in somewhere, even if it's on the floor? I'm not totally useless, as I will have my full set of tools, welder, cutting torch, etc.

Otherwise, I can just stay in my tent.

Marc,
Are you moving to Siberia or are you just bidding farewell to the XJ scene? Last time we wheeled, it seemed like your XJ was running fine except, of course, that whole four-wheels-off-the-ground trick in the rock Garden. I'll be there for the Fling, maybe even leading a trail as that responsibility will be given to the IC.

Backdraft, Jeepin_Rebel, and I will be heading out Monday morning and caravanning into Moab Monday afternoon/evening. We will be leaving for home Sunday morning.

If anyone along the I-40 route wants to join in on the caravan, let me know where you're at and I'll tell you what time we'll be driving through your location. Everyone's welcome.

If you can't take a Jeep but can go and at least ride along all week, you can jump in with one of us to get to Moab.

Not going to be there this year :(. This will be the first year I won't be there in, well, forever. I've been there for every NAXJA Fall Fling. Last year I had started a new Job and took 5 days off without pay so I could make it. They will no longer allow time off without pay so I must use vacation time. I'm using my only week off to go to CO this year. Next year I'll have 2 weeks of vacation so I will likely do Moab and maybe Tellico again. As for where...:dunno:...I'm pulling a 14' travel trailer, so will be somewhere with a space for that.

AFAIK though he's planning to split it up into two pieces, but he can do it in one. I pulled last year on 4.11's with a manual tranny a trailer that weighed over twice as much as his. The only thing that came out of it was that the mpg suuuuuuuucked and on the long climbs towards the end I'd be doing only about 35mph (not counting the ticket in Barstow....). SO this year I figured it's cabin time (costs even out to be the same).
Oh... and yeah I Should still be there Sat AM and might hit some trails depending on whether I have cabin through Sat or Sun (Can't remember).

Are you going with Lawn cher' and do you guys want to follow us out?No, Lawn cher can't make it so I really don't know how I'm getting out there. I still don't have a tow vehicle avail so I may end up having to drive the XJ out.

Anyone planning on running anything Sunday (10th)? Unfortuantly I won't be able to make it till Saturday due to work but I'd like to stay more than one day and hit something Sunday b4 heading home.

I'll be bringing mine too. Really want to do the Slickrock.I've done Slickrock a couple times. It's kind of a cool playground but I prefer real trails. Slickrock is like a concrete terrain park. Granted, everyone should do it at least once but there are incredible trails out there like Porcupine Rim and Amasa Back that are truly awe-inspiring.

I'll be leading Moab Rim on Sat, unfortunately the XJ won't be ready in time, so i'm going to be driving the YJ. Look for a big blue ugly POS YJ on 37's hanging out a slickrock with you guys :D
