Brake Pads

I have squeezed just about all the life possible out of my old stock brake pads and the local NAPA quoted me a $88 set of ceramic pads. They said the difference between the expensive ceramic pads and a $25.00 set is about 180 feet at 60 mph. Just wondering if thats true and the price is for quality or are there any sets that are less expensive and just as good? It's for my 99' XJ.

180' ???? I don't think SO!

Considering that my 89 XJ with Performance Friction CF pads ($38 at Auto Zone) stops in 152' from 60 MPH I don't think the ceramics are going to stop 180' quicker - maybe 18 feet and I doubt that distance - my numbers are with g-tech and were before I installed the 95 double diaphram booster so I should be in the 145' range now.. Will get to measure it some day.
