Highbeam Problem

Quick question:
2000 bone stock XJ Sport, high beams do not work when pushing the multi-function switch forward but do come on when pulling the lever to the rear (passing / flashing).

Is this a fuse or relay issue or is the multi-function switch junk ?
 
If you do replace the switch don't get one from Autozone. Just over a year later and my high beams hardly ever work or sometimes they flash on when I use the turn signal. Normally when I push the stalk forward I get no headlights.

So it IS ONLY the multi-function switch that controls the high beams ? Nothing else up or down stream ?
 
If you're getting high beams when the switch is pulled
back, then that eliminates everything but the multi-function switch...
