AW4 Shifting ?

I have an AW4 in my LJ. It has the Art Carr/Williams shifter with no TCM. I put it in 1st and it stays there till I want a different gear. Same way in all gears and I have a switch on the dash for torque converter lockup. Can the shift pattern be changed from P,R,N,OD,3,2,1 to P,R,N,1,2,3,OD by relocating the switches? Or, will that be in conflict with the shift cable position? That would make it so easy to recover from a possible flip or roll over when a fast shift to reverse is needed.

No you cannot make it shift with a backwards shift pattern the shift lever position is key to available fwd gears.

Thanks Rory. I spoke with you a couple months ago regarding my shifter. (Got it from Andrew @ Letzroll) I will be sending it to you when we get back to WI for you to modify for a faster shift to Rev from 1st gear like you described then.
