It seems I'm asking thread size questions lately... 3 Crank pulley puller bolts?

I'm working on pulling the harmonic balancer off the front of the crankshaft. I rented a harmonic balancer puller from O'Reilly's, had to go to 2 different stores to find one. The only puller kit they had, had really buggered up threads on them so I'm not sure if I have the wrong sizes or they're just that buggered up.

I'm trying to determine the size of the outside 3 threaded holes but none of the sizes listed below seem to fit.

The sizes in the kit are:
---3/8"-24
---3/8"-16
---5/16"-18
---8mm-1.25
---6mm-1.0 (say GM V6)

Anybody know the size of these?

I just got off work and found this link:

It looks like he's using the same rental kit I have but the fasteners look a whole hell of a lot better. The fasteners look silver which according to the kit I have would be the 5/16"-18 bolts.

I still have not confirmed this yet and will probably need to rent a new kit because of the abused bolts this kit came with. Been searching for 2 hours today and still can't find the bolt size. :confused1

I think I answered my own question again... posting what I found because this is hard to find information.

Alright, so after 3 trips to the hardware store that isn't that close to me, I finally have it off.

At first a M7x1.00 threaded into the balancer, but they were just too small and started pulling out when I put any pressure on the puller. I finally got it off with 5/16-18 bolts from the hardware store. The puller came with 5/16-18 bolts, but they just wouldn't fit, I don't know why.

This was helpful as well:
---Crankshaft threads are 1/2"-20 according to the video below.

If anyone else runs into the problem of the 5/16-18 bolts not going into the crank, the rental tools I got were well abused. I had to run a die (from a tap and die set) over the threads. The die cut quite a bit of metal off the threads and cleaned them up nicely.

I might need to do run a tap into the crank pulley too if they try to cross thread as well.
