Dome Light Problems

The front dome light does not work, while the rear one does. This is weird because I thought they ran in a circuit? Bulbs are brand new, fuse is good. My best guess is a problem with the connection on the front light?

Well, if they were truly ran in series, neither would work if one lamp failed, and you have one working so...

I guess my first step would be to take a meter and measure for voltage across the lamp contacts. If you don't have a meter, can you at least switch lamps and make certain the problem doesn't follow the bulb?

Next, get the wiring diagram and see how it should rally look, I think the downloadable fsm for the cherokee is only like $9. In the end though I think you'll need to either have or borrow a meter to trace it down.
