Quick speedo gear ?

Did a quick search and the best i came up with was Go-jeeps run down of it , that i kind of don't have time to read at the moment.

But would like to order the speedo gear when i get home tonight from my other obligations.

If anyone happens to know what speedo gear tooth Count i Need it would be greatly appreciated if you would save me the trouble and tell me what i need.

its an 01 Auto Xj with 4.56 gears
and im running 31" Bfg A/t's ..

I will in the next year or 2 will be getting 33" Bfg A/t's

What tooth count would i need i would like to order both now and set aside the one for my future tires.

If i understood correctly i would need a

42 Tooth gear for the 31" tires..

39 Tooth for the 33" tires ..

If anyone can confirm or Correct this Please do

Recently I increased the Jeeps tire size from 32" to 33" and used a 39 tooth gear for 33" and 4.56s with an AX15.

I think thats where i was confused i figured they would be different for the aw4 and the ax15 .

Nope. It's based off the speed at the output of the transfercase, not what flavor of device does the shifting.

That chart is available at most sites that have gears for sale. Easy to read really.
Make sure you get the short gear, the long ones are for older XJs.
