rebuilt aw4 and no first gear

i rebuilt my aw4 and i had first gear and lock up for 2 days and all of a sudden i have no first gear nor lock up. it takes off in second gear and shifts fine though. i am at a lost for words and hav eno idea

Did you change the shift solenoids? Also check the pins in the 2 connectors by the dipstick tube. The grounds near the dipstick tube must also be clean.

Tried that. The solenoids are new. It just doesn't find first gear. Takes off in second and shifts flawlessly but the lock up went out again

Can you shift it manually in first with the tcm unplugged? I don't know if you took the valve body apart, but if you did, I would take it apart again, clean it and make sure all the check balls are in the right location. You can also test all the clutches with air when you have the valve body out of the way. I hope you have an ATSG manual, it tells you how to do all this stuff.

manually is does the same, valve body was cleaned so they say, having it cleaned again and replacing parts as well as installing shift kit

Well i found out that the valve body is thr problem and will need to replace it
