? on chaning a carrier bearing.

While its not quite this simple......
1-Pull a pattern and measure the backlash BEFORE dis-assembly
2-Pull the carrier,pull the old bearings off(keeping all the shims EXACTLY where they were) and press on new bearings
3-Re-install the carrier and re-check the pattern and backlash
If the pattern/backlash/pre-load changes, you will have to treat it like any new install and adjust accordingly!
Almost forgot...You MUST mark the carrier bearing caps,they have to be re-installed EXACTLY in the oreintation they came off!
