I just bought a XJ for my girfriend's son from a state auction, here the link if you are curious. it is a 93 with 69,000 miles and has a 4.0L. It is does not have 4wd, but I'm cool with that.

http://www.lonestaronline.com/listi...>Lot: 268 - 93 UTILITY VEHICLE; JEEP CHEROKEE

The car hasn't been started for a year, and I have to pick it up and drive it 400 miles tommorow. Any suggestions or reccomendations of what I should do before I start the engine? I know I will be saying a prayer first, but after that any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you!

First off i would check the fluids and hoses.and the battery..probably stop and get some gas treatment then filler up with pemium grade fuel..let her run for a bit see how it sounds..check the gauges frequently..Then take her around the block and see how it performs, then get out and inspect all hoses fluids and belt again and if all goes well i would say your good to go..

thanks guys, i am leaving in the morning to go it it, and gathering tools tonight. Packing the duct tape ...just in case. I'll post pics when I get back.

Is renting a car dolly or tow trailer from uhaul out of the question to get it back without any worries?

Everyone needs one of these ! Pulled my last one back over 6 hours with it.

30 minute install on a XJ including drilling the 7/16" holes
yep.... it's harber freight to the rescue, those guys got some good stuff (if ya don't have to use it alot) they're cheap and got what ya need to get something done, anytime I've got something major to do I check them out and they have what I need to finish what I want to.
