Offset leafspring perch

Lonestar

When I did my rear 9" swap, I bought a set of leaf spring perches from MORE. The perches had 3 holes for the center pins, one in the center and the other two were an inch forward and an inch back.

Is it a good idea to move the rear axle back an inch by mounting the center pin in the forward most hole? What would be the down side to this? Would it put irregular stress on the springs or u-bolts? Would I need to fab a anti-wrap bar?

The reason I ask is because I am planning on moving up to 36" tire soon, and I would like a little more room to stuff the tire. I am going to cut and fold the rear quarter panels so there will be a little room to move things back a little.

Any ideas?
