AX 15 from 4,0L same as AX15 for 2,5 Diesel?

Someone who knows anything about splines, shaft length for an AX15 from a Diesel(Europe) is the same as for 4,0L I6(US)?

Have a 1997 4,0L.....maybe, tranny needs to be changed.(This is a 23 splines towards Transfer as far as I know)
