yj flares on my xj?

because i cant help myself, i recently found a set of stock yj flares in a pile of junk. so, most of my body is dented in anyway,and i was eyeballing what the flares would look like on my jeep... so i ended up cutting my fenders to where the top line of the flare runs flush with the bend in the fender and the front of the flare right up the turn signal... it definetly gave me the space i wanted in the wheel well... but doesnt look that great... the pinch weld that runs up the back of the wheel well i hammered over till it was pretty flat and welded a flat piece of steel (about 2in. wide) over it to cover it up and keep it tight... like i said, it doesnt look great but it gave me lots of room... ill post some pics in a day or two if i can....
