XJ Brake Booster swap

Is there a significant difference between a dual-diaphragm XJ MC and
a WJ MC?
Both have the same 1" diameter bore and dual diaphragms.

XJs and WJs do not have the same part numbers.
Late model XJs MC/boosters have the same part numbers as ZJs.
WJ MC/boosters have different parts numbers and are physically different.
Check Rock Auto's site if you want confirmation on the part numbers.

Since they are different, I curious to know if there is any advantage to changing to a WJ MC/booster.

Can you swap a 98 XJ booster and master cylinder in to a 90 XJ?

Someone slap me if I'm wrong, but I believe it'd have to be from a non-ABS 96 or 97 only if you're going for the XJ booster.

I wish there was a consensus on this, which is the easiest and best way to go? Lots of opinion on this one.
