Hey everyone. So I got word from a friend and I may be moving to Pennsylvania. I'm trying to start fresh. And I'd like a stock XJ as my daily reliable driver. So there are pictures all over the forum of my XJ. If you request more it shal be fulfilled.

I put a RC 3" lift on (full leaf) with 31" Trxus M/T's. Trimmed fenders. All plastics are off. no carpeting. push start (with key in on position).

She's been quite well to me and drives quite strong. Same results off the road. Changed oil every 3k miles. She's clocked at 270k miles.

Here is what she needs.
new exhaust header. (cracked from a broken motor mount)
front pinion seal (blew it getting myself unstuck in a whole)
longer trackarm

Problems I have recently encountered.
1. slight popping noise as I decelerate.
2. some odd electrical problem where as of last night I lost my radio, interior lights and cluster gauges.
3. When I push my start button the starter skips a little bit then starts.

I'm going to go over a lot of things on the Jeep today to see exactly what is going on. I'd also be interested in a 91+ MJ. Please let me know and ask any questions you have.

Thank you.

They stopped making MJs in 91.

I highly doubt you will get somebody to make the trade you are looking for.

Have you considered putting your Jeep back down to stock? You could sell the lift parts and tires to make enough money to fix your issues. You'd have a good running Jeep in reliable driving condition for no money.

that was fast. you just put that lift on a few weeks before NAC-Fest.

good luck getting an MJ in decent shape, most people who bought them ran them into the ground.

There are some out there, but most are definitely fixer uppers. Also, what type of Jeep do you realistically expect to get in a trade with your mileage and the problems it has?

I was hopeing that somebody with a second xj would like trade for a 97+. I don't have my stock leafs and springs anymore. I sold my stock tires too. Plus my fenders and bumper are trimmed up. I know the trade sounds crazy. But it's been difficult to keep up with her problems with no job.

Did it have 4 doors? My insurance agent insists her computer tells her the MJ was available with 4 doors. I am pretty sure it's just the computer listing every option for every pickup ever.

Ah, the mythical 1992 MJ. I saw one on the internet once.

Mythical??

I think not.

How about a 2004 MJ.
Found it on AUTOTRADER(?) a while back.

Guy did a pretty good job putting it together.

I have seen that build, the guy has been trying to sell it for a few years now IIRC. It is well put together. However nothing about it makes it a 2004...

I say Mythical not to say that they do not exist, they do. But the production numbers were incredibly low. Making your chances of finding a good condition one very low. Especially considering as most were bought and used as cheap work trucks.

It was always my understanding that the killed the MJ in 92. But... they may have stopped actual production in 91

Jeep Comanche MJ 1986-92
Jeep Comanche

The Jeep Comanche (designated MJ) was a pickup truck version of the Cherokee compact SUV. It was a unibody vehicle, an oddity for a pickup truck.

Its styling and suspension derived from the Cherokee, the Comanche was offered with a selection of engines including a popular I6 engine found in most 1980s and 1990s Jeeps. Two wheel drive and four-wheel drive models were available as well as different bed lengths.

The Comanche was sold from 1986 until 1992, when it was dropped due to low sales, the lack of an extended cab body style and since it competed directly with Chrysler's existing Dodge Dakota.

yea, I would love to see pictures of those, the first is a part out, and the last two both mention body damage. Any Comanche is a PITA to find with a body worth anything more than making a buggy out of.

Once again, if I came across as a non-believer I did not mean too. I know they exist. My statement was more of a joke. The production numbers were low and a lot of them were beat pretty hard, so the surviving numbers of trucks worth saving is very low. Low enough that I doubt anyone would trade a good condition 1992 MJ with the options the OP mentioned, for a broken new model XJ.

Shoot, I know I wouldn't.
