sorry about that 29 spline im pretty sure since my 96 was manufactured in sept of 96

I would count to be sure. More often than not a 96 will be a 27

29 spline showed up late 98.

Well after asking jeeperjohn he said that most jeeps manufactured in the later part of 96 came with 29 spline. Then i saw a couple of your guys's post and im not quite sure haha. Is it hard to check spline count, do you just take off the rear diff cover?

I think the spline count on the rear end changed sometime in 96...from 27 to 29

96-97 was the change. more or less with the body style change. pulling out a shaft and counting is the only way to be sure. thats easy to do though anyway
