I usually fish Dana Point. You can hit bait barge and get out of the harbor pretty quickly instead of paddling for miles just to pass the breakwall. Sometimes I'll do Newport backbay for a quicky or right in front of Malibu Yaks.
During the winter I wear a dry shirt and pants. Not really wetsuit warm but warm none the less. Summer is my favorite, cruisin' the board shorts and enjoying the sights.
