I could get a bung and weld it in, and use a plug then. But the cover itself doesn't have enough material to just cut threads into. At that point its just as easy to get an aftermarket cover that is thicker to begin with.

That's why real pics are better in this case, and far better than twenty paragraphs of keyboard spewage.

The Dana logo helps ID it, but then again under an '89 you'll have either a D35 or a D44 (although that's mighty rare.)
