Visiting Detroit....

I'm coming over to Southfield, Michigan on business for a couple of days from UK and was wondering if anyone can recommend a Jeep/4x4 specialist parts shop that I can drool over/buy some bits from?

I'm going to be based aroun 10 mile/11 mile and Telegraph Road, so anywhere near there would be cool.

Of all the places in the US to visit you get stuck in Detroit...

I think there is a micro brewery in Southfield, but it's been a few years since I've been. Copper kettle brewing or something like that.

Detroit was the murder capital of the US for several years. I am not sure there are enough people left there for it to still be!

Fortunately you will not actually be in Detroit. I grew up just beyond 15 mile but it has been years since I have been back. I have no idea where any 4x4 shops would be. What other interests do you have and how much time are you goin gto have to yourself?

Yup.

Although DC took the crown (per capita at least) for awhile. Enough that they had to change their basketball team name as "the Washington Bullets" was thought to be distasteful ;)

Also the cop cars in DC have red and blue lights that flash all the time so that you can always see a cop from a far distance!

Funnily enough I do target shooting! So wouldn't mind having a go with some fully auto rifles as we don't get them over here. Going to be over for 3 days and will probably have a day and a half to myself if work goes to plan...

Going to get a hire car so i can move about.

Ooh, that reminds me, Cool Aid! Had it when I went to an american school in Brasil, a mate of mine was from Florida and told me about it.... going to have to get some of that to bring back....

both should be available in any grocery store. kool-aid is a powdered drink mix and will be on the aisle with the fruit juices, and Faygo will be with the soft drinks.

Need to find some more things I can't get over here! Can't wait to go to my first Mall, reckon I'll be spending most of the day just mooching around!
