trail tools

I always like to take a peice of pipe that just fits around the rachet handle or a breaker bar for leverage. It helps for those stuborn nuts and bolts.

All of the above plus a good breaker bar, those 2 little tranny fluid bung wrenches I had to fab, and some good wheel chocks. Oh yeah, and a torque wrench.

Woops chevelle01969 beat me to the breaker bar...

well, i know the 32mm socket was mentioned for the hub nut... on the 30 its actually a 36mm... Believe me.. I just had to go pay 10$ for one.

But anyway, yeah, 36mm for that, sockets necesary for removing the front hub assembly, Tcase, driveshafts, one for removing the yoke from the rear driveshaft (I forget the size, that may be a 32, though I dont think so, ill check later), spare yoke if you can (mine has come in helpful, though a yoke shouldnt be the first thing to go in the axle)...

And for flaring tool and tube cutter... to keep it small you can just get the mini tube cutter and compression fittings, they work well and dont take up nearly as much room as the flaring tool. Just throw them in a toolbox and forget, make sure to have a few, and make sure to have the right size

32 fits the older transfer case plugs.

the list is getting long however its still looking like multiple full socket and wrench sets are not nessesary I will try and get this all organized into a list maybe catagorized by activity Like front axel, Drive shafts, T-case etc...

I think I have some time this weekend to try and pull this together...

Keep them comming

Ok, yeah, 32 was the Tcase drain plug, inch and a quarter was the rear yoke nut. I just ruined my inch and a quarter though... damn makeshift tool fabrication...

2 quick Questions:
1) how do you keep all of that stuff from jumping around and maybe hitting someone?
2) did you know that the roll of t/p will fit in the glove box if you squish it a little?

I put all of my stuff in storage totes and strap it all down in the back with ratchet straps attached to anchor points in the floor. My tool bag sits in the rear seat floor board, it never has moved on me. I guess if I flopped it, it would though.
