Take the new Jeep and get a cage put in it RIGHT NOW. You can easily drive it there/home again, and it will be as rigid as it can be even before you start wheeling it hard.

Agreed... grab some cardboard boxes and get to work! I rerouted my tranny lines in the 96 while lying on a sheet of cardboard on snow yesterday.

psh i'm buying bolt on kits for ease of assembly. i also cant have my jeep down bc its my DD yo. once its warmer out i can lay it out for a while and drive one of my buddy's tow rigs to work while they drive their jeeps.
 
I installed a TNT kit, WJ swap, new shocks all around, new rear shackles, and new front and rear axles in a weekend.

Bolt-on = easy.

Oh and it was my DD.

Get to work.

44/60, rock krawler 4 link, shocks, tires, front and rear stiffys, steering.... def doable in a weekend. :D

best weekend of my life, obvi.
 
Frame stiffeners
Get new rear leafs.
New unit bearings.
Rear disc brakes-Working on them now.
2x6 box rockers.

Think that's about it. All of it but the unit bearings I can go without but I want to do it. Just gotta hope it dont break down right before.

- Build fuel cell mount
- Relocated battery to bed
- Build rockers
- Put interior back together and run the wiring harness
- Modify bracket for slave cylinder
- Exhaust (hopefully stock downpipe, muffler, and then turndown at rear bumper)
- Cage if time permits
- OBA setup
- Driveshafts front and rear

install durango box - bought it, then bolted stock box back on and stopped caring
fix transfer case shift linkage - not happenin'
finish welding in floors one of these years - not happening either!
fix punctured radiator from my dumb ass - done! (and I have everything needed to solder up a copper radiator in the trail kit now...)
wire up winch - done! need to respool cable and add 1 nut, maybe make contactor mounting less ghetto, it's electrical taped to my brake booster
rear bumpstops - bought em, gotta install sometime
put new control arms in instead of just carrying them as spares
replace a few ujoints - some replaced, stopped caring
finish fixing M54A2 and get it registered etc
replace horribly mangled downpipe

Build axles and get them in- have 90% of the parts, started on the 9"
install quarter guards
Trans cooler
Figure out mystery cold soak no start issue- Done

D300- Its going to happen, picking up the parts I need today

0. Get XJ back from shop (been laid up getting cabin floor replaced with bead-rolled 16ga. Yes, I know I'm nuts.)
1. Have possible slow air leak in RF tire checked
2. Install heavy-duty tie rod
3. Install Clayton Adjustable UCAs (got with winnnings from December raffle)
4. Install closed-cell padding under carpet
5. Install new power antenna
6. (Optional) Fix damn power mirror wiring.
 
well i revised my list to one thing, aussie lock the 30. Got some new/used mt's so I am ready to rock.
 
yeah mine sorta was up in September... gotta get that handled :eyes:
