I am thinking about putting Race Trim seats in my MJ. I would also like to use a 4 or 5 point harness with thick shoulder pads.
Now the issue. I do not want a cage in my truck. The main reason for the seats is because my girlfriend has a really bad back and being bounced around kills her back. The MJ is not a huge wheeling monster. It is just a 4.5" lift with some 245/75R16 Rubicon take offs. I think a nice suspension seat and heavily padded belts would make wheeling bearable for her.
Can I run a harness bar behind the seats ,set to the proper height, mount the lap belts in the factory lower holes with the screw in eyelets and fab up a mount for the submarine belt without any major safety concerns?
The harnesses will not be used on the streets, only on the trail. The trails will never be much more than moderate trails.
