And he got me today. Check out this pic of my LH steering knuckle. I was changing balljoints and look what came out with it.

I can't ever recall seeing a balljoint come apart like that :dunno:

The upper joint is not really a ball joint, as you can see. And yes they do come apart that way sometimes if there worn. Not a big deal, just remove the nut, set that end of the stud over a vice or something solid, and bang the knuckle off.
